Pick-by-Light Module: PTF-OL-1

PTF-OL-1
145 mm x 50 mm
The new PTF-OL-1 Pick-by-Light module brings even the graphical display up to the latest technical standards. The OL-1 features a larger, modern graphical display with OLED technology, which ensures a crystal-clear presentation of process-relevant information. The entire Pick-by-Light system is now even more appealing.
The abbreviation OLED stands for “Organic Light Emitting Diode,” which, unlike LCD panels, consumes less energy and does not require an external backlight. Sharper contrasts and, consequently, optimal visibility of the displayed information from every angle ensure greater safety during the error-free picking process. In addition, the module is equipped with proven features. The oval, two-part pick-to-light unit (2×7 colors) allows two pickers to work in the same zone, and the graphical pick-to-light display can show additional information—such as item numbers or brief descriptions—across multiple lines and in various font sizes.
You can learn more about the Pick-by-Light system in the main article on light-guided picking.
The PTF-OL-1 module can be equipped with additional options as desired. These include confirmation via LTouch (a light touch of the indicator light) or fully contactless confirmation via a sensor (QRS motion sensor). A special highlight is an external input (available as an option) for connecting buttons or signal transmitters directly to the Pick-by-Light module. This allows for checking fill levels, receiving status messages from the conveyor system, or integrating external acknowledgment signals.
Why are there different system names?
Pick-by-Light
Pick-by-Light refers to a visual picking system in which electronic bin indicators located directly at the storage bin display the quantities to be picked.
The pick is typically confirmed using a button on the display.
Pick-to-Light
Pick-to-Light is a complementary product line within the LUCA picking system.
It comprises several display series with different designs and applications and is used for both traditional picking and multi-stage picking and distribution processes.
Put-to-Light
Put-to-Light is a method of paperless goods distribution in which items are placed directly into designated bins, such as when restocking flow racks.
