This Pick by Light standard compartment display with a four-digit numeric display has been used for many years in various systems to display larger withdrawal quantities or container sizes. It must be taken into account that even the round LED eye-catching light can either flash or statically display only one colour.
In a standard process after order activation via a scanner, HOST system or conveyor system, the compartment displays light up with the corresponding removal quantities on the four-digit numerical display. The strong LED signals the removal from a great distance. The removal itself is confirmed with the acknowledgement button. The +/- buttons can be used to correct shortfalls in quantity and to take inventory.

Various individual functions can be triggered via the function button. The information displayed and the process at the compartment display are LUCA-Server controlled by the button and can be individually designed.
Why different names?
Pick by Light
With the method Pick by Light is about classic picking with the help of Pick by Light displays. Here the Pick by Light display shows the withdrawal quantity directly at the storage compartment. The system receives the acknowledgement of the withdrawal mostly by pressing a key on the module.
pick to light
The term is often misused and therefore often Pick by Light confused with. The Pick to Light method is a Multi-Order-Picking method that focuses on distributing articles that have just been picked to different orders. The method is used classically in a Pick by Cart system.
Put to Light
The Put to Light method clearly defines a distribution of goods to the target compartments. As a classic example, the replenishment in a flow rack (German: Durchlaufkanal) can be mentioned here.
