It already exists with Hololens TODAY
HoloLens is a mixed reality headset that projects 3D holograms into a real space, opening up entirely new dimensions. We have been working on this solution for several years, developing and researching with HoloLens. LUCA was awarded the "Product of the Year" prize by EUROLOGISTICS in 2016 for this solution.
The technical fascination
The HoloLens is the perfectly designed device that uses six cameras to capture the real space in 3D, calculates the virtual 3D objects in real time, and projects them precisely onto the stereo glasses. Audio output, speech recognition, and connection to the LUCA-Server out the features of the glasses. The virtual objects are perceived as Pick-by-Hololens real in the real space with Pick-by-Hololens . The enormous computing power guarantees very smooth movement of the virtual objects.
Use for production and logistics
Currently, the weight and dimensions of the HoloLens are not yet Pick-by-Hololens for continuous use in production and warehouses as Pick-by-Hololens . However, the direction of development is fascinating and correct. We will stay on top of it!
Google Glass or HoloLens
Compared to HoloLens, Google Glass is nothing more than a small monitor attached to a pair of glasses. With its small built-in camera, Google Glass can also take good photos. However, the camera is not suitable for room recognition. Google Glass and HoloLens are two different devices that cannot be directly compared. Google Glass only displays information on a mini monitor. HoloLens displays information in a real 3D space. Google Glass is small and lightweight, making it more acceptable to users. However, we believe that the use of data glasses in logistics is fundamentally wrong. Logistics employees need information that can be presented to them in a better way.
Product of the Year 2016
As one of the first developers in Europe, LUCA was able to test and program the HoloLens back in 2015. The result of our developments was a prestigious award as "Product of the Year 2016" in logistics, transport, and production in Poland. We are very proud of this and would like to congratulate our Polish developers.
Grand prize:

The award-winning picking system is based on 3D projection of objects and information, which were displayed as holograms above the picking compartments in a real room. The removal was then confirmed by voice or scanner.
