LUCA Logistic Solutions
eLocation

Innovative RTLS technology enables precise indoor positioning of transmitters. A simple infrastructure of UWB antennas(via PoE) covers very large areas. We have a variety of antennas and transmitters at our disposal. Great innovation and precision with modern technology.

The Worldwide Innovation for INDOOR Navigation

UWB technology enables indoor positioning with an accuracy of a few centimeters.

eLocation

Today, almost every car and smartphone has a GPS (Global Positioning System). This allows you to determine your position relatively accurately outdoors. Unfortunately, satellite signals are no longer available inside buildings or halls. That's where eLocation® from LUCA comes in. Some of our solutions for logistics and production use the IPS (Indoor Positioning System). Just talk to us. We will develop the right solution for you too.

Locating objects

eLocation® enables precise location tracking of objects equipped with transmitters. In addition to their 3D position, the transmitters can also send other information, such as inclination, north pole orientation, and acceleration, to the LUCA system. The following objects, for example, can be located and managed appropriately:

  • Forklifts & tugger trains
  • Pallets and mesh boxes
  • container
  • tools
  • picking trolley
  • sequence vehicle
  • Long battery life

The use of RTLS technology offers us countless possibilities. This innovative and precise technology ensures the reliability of our solutions.

Monitoring access to storage locations

The eLocation® Watch is a solution in which small eLocation® transmitters are attached to thepicker's hand(watch). In the LUCA system, the storage locations are configured in the recorded space. When the picker accesses the space configured as a storage location, the system checks whether the access was correct:

  • If access is incorrect, an error message is generated (light, voice, horn, etc.).
  • If access is correct, automatic removal confirmation can take place.

In high-performance picking, this method eliminates the need for manual confirmation of withdrawals. TheeLocation® Watchensures quality in accordance withPokaYokeand significantly increases performance.

UWB technology

Frequency range: 3–7 GHz
Bandwidth: 500 MHz
Number of channels: 6

The exact time difference between the arrival of the signals at the synchronized receivers is based on the TDoA (Time-Difference-of-Arrival) principle.

System components

eLocation® consists of active transmitters attached to moving objects and receivers that are permanently installed in the monitored space. Thetransmittersare equipped with long-life batteries, but can also be connected to an external power source (e.g., forklift).
Thereceiversare supplied with data and power via Ethernet (PoE) using a network cable. The data from the receivers is evaluated in aneLocation® controllerand sent to the LUCA-Server via LAN.

Battery life

The battery-powered transmitter only takes a short time to send a UWB message. Therefore, the energy required is very low compared to other radio technologies. Depending on the set frequency of the UWB message (> 20 ms), the battery life can beup to 7 years.
