Pick-by-Picture®

LUCA Pick-by-Picture

When picking or assembling different items that are not labeled, quality assurance issues often arise regarding colors or shapes. Is the picked or assembled part really correct? A selection of images provides the necessary support.

The Eye Principle

On a mobile graphic display or a fixed workstation PC, the employee is LUCA-Server four different images from the LUCA-Server database in LUCA-Server Pick-by-Picture .” Depending on the purpose of the inspection, the display may show different colors of the same product, different shapes, or different products altogether. The selection and arrangement of the images are random. Only one of the four images displayed is correct; the remaining three show minor or major differences. The employee must compare the product with the images and confirm their selection on the touchscreen. If the confirmed image is correct, the process step proceeds accordingly. If the confirmation is incorrect or the employee cannot confirm an image, the process step is interrupted and the issue is resolved. The final product can optionally be captured as an image for later quality assurance purposes.
