Is a smartwatch or a handheld scanner better for order picking?
The smart devices essentially replace the old handheld terminals. Their user-friendly interface, which can be customized, opens up new possibilities for designingpicking system workflows. If necessary, the smart devices can be mounted on special holders depending on the application.
Is a smartwatch enough?
With an Android watch, the display and battery life are relatively limited. The question is what information the employee actually needs during their workflow. If it’s just the storage location and the quantity, then using a smartwatch isn’t a problem. The scanner is then usually connected directly to the LUCA-Server. In this case, the Pick-by-Watch® serves only as a simple display with touch functionality.
