Modern smart devices can be easily integrated with LUCA-Server . There is a wide range of hardware available, from inexpensive consumer products to robust and professional designs. The devices only serve as display screens with input options. The entire process logic and the order data are stored on the LUCA-Server .
Is a smartwatch or a handheld scanner better for order picking?
The smart devices actually replace the old Heldhands terminals. The user-friendly interface, which can be freely designed, opens up new perspectives for the process design of order picking systems. If required, the smart devices can be attached to special holders depending on the type of application.
Is a smartwatch enough?
The display and battery life of an Android watch are relatively small. The question is what information the employee really needs in their process. If this is only the storage location and the number of items, then it is no problem to work with a smart watch. The scanner is then usually connected directly to the LUCA-Server. In this case, the Pick-by-Watch® only serves as a simple display with touch function.
Smart devices
The Android-based devices are ideal for use in order picking. The robust and professional design ensures long-lasting use. The watch is connected to the LUCA-Server connected. The screen masks displayed are defined and programmed according to customer requirements. Other devices, such as scanners or headsets, can also be connected to Pick-by-Watch® via Bluetooth.
