In logistics, handling costs encompass not only logistics costs (warehousing costs) but also all costs incurred in processes involving the movement of goods or finished products via transportation.
The most important handling costs include: costs for personnel, vehicles, conveyors, means of transport, transport equipment, transportation costs, packaging materials, packaging equipment, and other material costs associated with moving goods. Overhead costs that can only be partially allocated to handling costs include: costs for workshop machinery, lifting platforms, cleaning costs, and personnel costs for the repair shop.
