What are handling costs?
In logistics, handling costs are not only logistics costs (warehousing costs), but include all costs incurred in processes in which goods or finished products are moved via means of transport.
The main handling costs include: Personnel costs, vehicles, conveyors, transport equipment, transport costs, packaging materials, packaging equipment and other material costs for moving the goods. Ancillary costs that can only be partially allocated to handling costs include: Costs of machinery in the workshop, lifting platforms, cleaning costs, personnel costs of the repair workshop.
